The Eden Alternative® and the Aged Care Standards

The Eden Alternative® – Best Practice Accreditation and Compliance = Improved Wellbeing

The Eden Alternative approach of person directed care can enhance your best practice industry compliance obligations, objectives and outcomes.

The Australian Aged Care Quality Standards came into effect on the 1st July 2019 and impact all service providers in the residential Aged Care and Community Care sectors in Australia.  These new Standards focus upon a person directed approach to care and support.

What does this look like?

Using the framework of the 10 Eden Principles and the Eden Domains of Wellbeing you can align the Standards, their requirements and expected outcomes with an innovative model that is all about the person you are supporting.

The following table provides an overview of how the Eden Domains of Wellbeing inter-twine with the Quality Standards across community, disability, residential aged care in Australia and New Zealand.

To fully appreciate the synchronicity of these two components, Eden education is required.
